This award is given to the first author of a paper which was published in any issue of the Polymer Journal (No. 1-12) in the preceding year and should recognize the quality of the contents, regardless of the origin of the author. The nominee must not have passed his or her 38th birthday at the time when the paper was submitted to the Polymer Journal.

The number of the awards shall be limited to three per year.

The Award consists of a certificate, a medal, and 300,000jpy as a supplementary prize per person.

The prize winner shall present an Award Lecture at the SPSJ Annual Meeting in the year the prize is awarded.Traveling and staying fee shall be provided by SPSJ.

[General Rules]

1.The administration of this award shall be in accordance with the following principles.

[Rule of Eligibility]

2.This award is to encourage research by younger scientists in the field of polymer science and to given to the first author of a paper which was published in any issue of the Polymer Journal(No.1-12) in the preceding year and should recognize the quality of the contents, regardless of the origin of the author. The nominee must not have passed his or her 38th birthday at the time when the paper was submitted to the Polymer Journal.

[The Award and Its Number]

3.The Award consists of a certificate, a medal, and as a supplementary prize 300,000jpy per person. The number of the awards shall be limited to three per year.

�AThe awardees shall present the Award Lecture at the SPSJ Annual Meeting of the year. Traveling and staying expenses are paid by SPSJ.

[Nomination of the Candidates]

4.To nominate a paper for the award the nominator is required to complete the Nomination Form(Forms 1,2 and 3) and submit it to the Editor-in-Chief, the Polymer Journal, by January 14th each year.

[Selection of the Recipients]

5.Members of the Editorial Board of the Polymer Journal shall be members of the Award selection committee.Bylaws of this Award are established elsewhere.

[Approval on the Awards]

6.The approval of the recipients of the Award shall be made by the Board of Directors of SPSJ

[Presentation of the Award]

7.The awards will be presented to each recipient at the award ceremony of the General Assembly on the occasion of the SPSJ Annual Meeting

8.The Award is called the"SPSJ Award for the Outstanding Paper in Polymer Journal sponsored by ZEON".

[Supplementary Rules]

1.This award succeeds the "Award for the Outstanding Paper" published in the Polymer Journal.

2.These regulations shall be in force after they have been approved by the Board of Directors of SPSJ.
