General Information
Passport and Visa
All the visitors to Japan need valid passports, and some are also required to obtain visas.  Please inquire at the nearest Japanese Consulate Office, if necessary.
VISAS:    IUPAC sponsorship implies that entry visas will be granted to all bona fide chemists, provided the application is made less than 3 months in advance. If a visa is not granted 1 month before the meeting, the applicant should notify the IUPAC Secretariat without delay.
Currency
The Japanese currency gyenh can be purchased at foreign exchange banks, hotels and other licensed money exchangers.
Climate
At the end of July, it may be hot in Fukuoka; the daytime temperature may sometimes reach around 35°C (95s°F).  However, the conference facilities and hotel rooms are all air-conditioned.
For further information about Japan and how to obtain visas, visit the Japan National Tourist Organizatin (JNTO) website. (http://www.jnto.go.jp/eng/)
